Mario Kart 64 is a kart racing video game developed by Nintendo for the Nintendo 64 console and it was released in the United States on February 23 1996. The game introduced 3D graphics that gave a new level of depth to the series and it supported four player split screen competition which made it a popular choice for parties. Players could choose from a roster of characters including Mario Luigi Peach Bowser and Yoshi each with distinct attributes.
