Mannequin

Mannequin is a romantic comedy film that was released on DVD in the United States and it fits neatly into the Comedy genre, which was the original classification used to help locate the title through web searches. The story centers on Jonathan Switcher, a young artist who struggles to find lasting employment, until he creates a mannequin of such lifelike perfection that he falls in love with his own creation. The mannequin becomes the centerpiece of a large department store window display and when Switcher rescues an elderly lady who happens to be the store’s owner, he is rewarded with a job as a stockroom clerk. The narrative takes a whimsical turn when the mannequin awakens as Emmy, an ancient Egyptian woman who lived in the year 2514 BC, and the two collaborate to redesign the store’s window display into the most eye‑catching presentation in town, drawing the admiration of shoppers and the envy of rival competitors who will stop at nothing to undermine their success. The film blends humor, fantasy, and a touch of romance, delivering a light‑hearted adventure that celebrates creativity, unexpected love and the magic that can happen when art meets retail. It was added to the iOctavio.com collection on August 2 2007.
