Somewhere In Time

Somewhere In Time is a 1980 romantic fantasy film directed by Jeannot Szwarc and starring Christopher Reeve and Jane Seymour. The movie was released on DVD in the United States on March 23 1999 and became available in the home video market as a classic cinema title. The story follows young playwright Richard Collier who meets an elderly woman on the opening night of his first play and she begs him to come back to her. He learns that she is the famous stage actress Elise McKenna from the early 1900s. Becoming obsessed he uses self hypnosis to travel back in time and encounters her in person. Their love develops despite the disapproval of her manager and the impossibility of their differing eras. The film highlights a memorable time travel sequence achieved through hypnotic suggestion, the tender chemistry between the leads, period costumes that evoke the 1900s stage world, and an emotional climax where Richard must decide whether to stay in the past or return to his own time. The DVD edition presents the film in widescreen format with a Dolby stereo soundtrack and includes special features such as a director commentary and a making of documentary that reveal production design challenges. The game was added to iOctavio.com on 2006-10-23 and was originally categorized as Drama, which aligns with its focus on emotional relationships and personal sacrifice.
